CENELEC produces a set of deliverables - differing in the levels of consensus and approval required before issue – offering a flexible means to meet market needs for technical requirements and information. Amongst these, the European Standard (EN) is the major deliverable, besides which CENELEC produces other deliverables with different objectives, such as the Technical Specification (CLC/TS), the Technical Report (CLC/TR), the CENELEC Workshop Agreement and the CENELEC Guide.

The drafter of European Standards has to keep in mind the particular needs of specific stakeholders - see CEN-CENELEC Guides 6 'Guide for addressing accessibility in standards', 11 'Product information relevant to consumers Guidelines for standard developers', 14 'Child Safety Guidance for its Inclusion in Standards' and 17 'Guidance for writing standards taking into account SMEs needs'.
